Eggsolotl info

Posted by AxolStudio - July 28th, 2021

Hey everyone! Thanks for the overwhelmingly positive feedback on our July 2021 Jam Game: Eggsolotl!

It was a lot of fun to work on, and my Daughter Naomi and I really love how it came out!

We're thinking about expanding the game a little bit, after the jam has finished and everything...

Fixing the minor bugs with egg collision, adding some new game modes (endless mode, survival mode, etc), and maybe releasing it on Itch with downloadable versions for PC/Mac.

If we do this, I would love to overhaul the sound effects. I'm not happy with how they turned out. I may need to hire someone who can make sounds that sound like 16-bit SNES sounds, to match the theme...

I might also hire someone to re-do the title screen/victory screen art... Again, I'm not in love with the logo (which was slapped together in a hurry) and while I do love Naomi's artwork for the title, I'd love to have something more professionally refined (like I used for Monster Match, for example)

I think putting in the extra polish will really make this game shine... even if it's going to available for free...

If you have any suggestions on features we should add to the game, please let us know!

Posting our games on Newgrounds has been reinvigorating! I was in a bit of a slump, and feeling down during the pandemic... but after posting 4 games on here, all of which have gotten Frontpaged - and 2 of which have earned a spot in the Daily Top 5 (with the other 2 I think getting honorable mentions, at least), it really feels good!

I really want to sink my teeth into a larger, more expansive game dev project, soon... but I haven't figured out what that's going to be, yet... maybe we should collaborate with some of you on something?
